Caserío Montehermoso is a sustainable rural paradise with Provencal flair and slow soul. Joana, the owner, is a true love and will treat you with the same goldsmith care with which she has decorated these three jewels that make up the farmhouse. Each of the three cottages that we offer you here has been decorated in the Boho post-pandemic style, where what we are looking for are materials that give us back the experience of natural materials wherever we decide to stay. From Aloha we invite you to discover these three accommodations one by one. PAGOA This is the largest of the three lodgings and is the one chosen by couples with children and groups of 4 friends. It has a private outdoor garden (about 50 m2) with an ófuro (traditional Japanese bathtub) where you can enjoy a complete relaxation experience with a hot or warm bath at any time of the year. The wood of the firewood, when mixed with hot water, gives off natural aromas that induce relaxation and deep sleep, making it the perfect plan for a memorable evening. The garden, for the exclusive use of the guests of this apartment, is surrounded by aromatic plants, roses and lilacs. Its views of the remains of an 11th century castle make it a very special place. It is perfect for reading outdoors, taking a nap on the Balinese hammock and enjoying quality time. This accommodation is also equipped with a terrace area at the front of the house, which is accessed through the fence at the entrance to the farmhouse, and has a wooden pergola covered with an awning, under which rest a wooden table, two raffia armchairs and two folding chairs made of wood and white canvas. Each apartment or studio bears the Basque name of a native tree. Pagoa (beech) is one of our favorite trees. We have beech trees very close to the farmhouse and when we walk through them, we immediately feel peace and well-being. The same feeling we try to make you feel in the Pagoa apartment. GOROSTI Studio for couples (25 m2) with wood-burning fireplace and private ecological spa in the garden. It is adapted for people with reduced mobility. It has been designed following the concept of a hotel suite, with the advantage of having a kitchen and a designer wood-burning fireplace. The fireplace, white enameled, is placed in the corner, in front of the bed, and its design, with glazed sides, allows to contemplate the fire both from the bed and from the dining table and kitchen. The predominant color in this studio is white (floors, walls and wooden beams). The name of the studio, gorosti, is a tribute to the holly tree, a tree of great ecological value as it serves as shelter and food, especially for birds, at a time when there is little to eat in the bush. For the Celts it was a sacred tree, used at the winter solstice to attract good luck and prosperity. In front of the entrance to the studio, a wooden table, a blue bench and two chairs, framed by a brightly colored carpet, welcome you and invite you to sit and chat leisurely. An awning protects the table from the sun and a trellis with plants gives privacy to this beautiful space. A few meters away from the apartment, leaving the access fence, you have a beautiful private fenced garden where a barbecue and an "ófuro" (Japanese hot water pool) are waiting for you alone, with views of the farmhouse, the Sierra de Arkamo (Red Natura 2000) and the Castle of Astúlez. ARTEA Studio of 25 m2 for couples looking for a special place to live moments that will last in their memories. It is the brightest of the three accommodations thanks to its large wooden windows and two Velux windows placed in the white wooden attic roof. Another of the attractions of this studio is its ófuro (traditional Japanese bathtub), located in its private garden, with which you can enjoy a sustainable and relaxing bath at sunset (at 30-40 degrees). This studio is the ritual of the bath because inside, the queen of the room is, next to the bed, an oval whirlpool bathtub. It is strategically placed in front of a design fireplace with undulating shapes. It is a special accommodation experience, for guests who love details. The floor of the studio is oak wood, warm and inviting to walk on barefoot. Around the whirlpool tub and inside the bathroom, we have opted for vintage-style hydraulic tile. The walls of the apartments are made of stone masonry, a very old construction system that we have respected because it is the traditional construction method of our land. This studio is completed with a wooden balcony with hanging chair-hammock, and a garden overlooking the mountain, equipped with outdoor furniture and fireplace + outdoor barbecue. We have called it artea as a tribute to the holm oak, whose size and branches impress us so much. For the Greeks, the holm oak was a symbol of justice and strength and in the Middle Ages, the noblemen of Valdegovía, the untitled nobles, descendants of the warriors who fought against the Muslim invasion during the Reconquest, met in a circle under its slender canopy to make important decisions about their organization and lives. They were the Meetings of the Knights Sons of the Royal Valley of Valdegovía and we have a silent witness of those meetings in Angosto, 5 kilometers from our complex. It is a specimen that was declared "singular tree" in the Basque Country in 1997. SURROUNDINGS The greatest value of our project is the natural environment in which it is located, surrounded by natural areas such as Mount Santiago and its vertiginous Salto del Nervión, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Western Europe (9 kilometers by road from Caserío Montehermoso). But also jewels of the Natura 2000 Network (Sierra de Árkamo, Sierra Salvada, Valderejo, Sobrón, Sierra de Árcena and Río Omecillo-Tumecillo), protected at European level. For all these reasons, the forests, mountains and crags that shelter us are for us a source of admiration and respect.
