Welcome to the Hohenufer log cabin, just 35 km north of Hamburg – your retreat into nature, openness, and tranquility. Surrounded by meadows, pastures, and forests, you will find a cozy log cabin here with a large outdoor area for relaxation and as a perfect starting point for extensive hikes, bike tours, or horseback rides, directly from the log cabin. The log cabin is beautifully located, right next to a horse paddock. With a bit of distance, there are a few houses from the horse farm, where there was also a lot of activity; you kept meeting the horse owners and could chat for a bit. They were all really nice, and it was just a highlight to look out the window in the morning and see the grazing horses. You can take great walks in the surrounding area, and on the porch, you can spend countless hours in a relaxed atmosphere. There are so many seating options around the log cabin, so you have plenty of choices. The furnishings of the log cabin itself were great; it was so nicely decorated and very lovingly done. Everything was really there! I am a very clean person, and hygiene is extremely important to me. I felt completely at home right away; everything was clean, including bed linens and towels, etc. Maria is super helpful and friendly. I can totally recommend spending a vacation here; we definitely want to come back!

I live in Hamburg and have been using the log cabin as a retreat for myself, my family, and friends for 15 years. We all love it! As soon as we turn off the village road onto the farm road in Langeln and drive the one kilometer through pastures and fields to the gate of Hohenufer, we leave everything behind. Then we see the horses and the sheep, and then the log cabin, and we just look forward to a wonderful time. Unfortunately, due to work commitments, I can’t use this hideaway as often as I’d like, so I’m happy to share it with people who, I hope, will feel just as at home here as I do.
