Description
Masuria - a land of forests, lakes, moraine hills, clean air and waters is not only known in Poland as a holiday destination, but also increasingly appreciated in Europe. You can find us on the edge of the forest, halfway (S16) between Orzysz and Elk. On a fenced area of about 2 hectares we offer: the possibility to stay overnight with a caravan, camper or pitch a tent. We have sanitary facilities and places for bonfires, and in our area you can go to the lakes, fish on them, walk in the woods and in the countryside where often dirt roads suddenly end. By 1933 we can document the history of this place. It was then that Carl Grygo, who ran a sawmill with his family, built a house that is still standing today. It served as a center of life for the Prussian family until 1944, at which time they returned to Germany. In later years, the site served as a material depot for the Road and Bridge Authority in Elk. In 1996 we, Joanna and Heinz Grundel, took over the badly neglected plot and house and began renovations and cleanup work. We love this little paradise on Earth of ours, we enjoy spending every moment here regardless of the season. The proximity to nature as well as the atmosphere of this corner we are happy to share with you. Those looking for additional excitement, we recommend in the near distance to visit the museum of Michal Kajka- Masurian carpenter and poet from Ogródek (3 km) and Elk tourist attraction - narrow-gauge railroad along with the museum. Further excursions include: Viaducts in Stańczyki, the Pokamedulski Monastery in Wigry, the Park of Wild Animals in Kadzidłowo, the ruins of a palace in Sztynort, the Museum of the Mazurian Land in Owczarnia, the Marian Sanctuary -"Święta Lipka", " Wilczy Szaniec" Mamerki and Osowiec Fortress - the remains of World War II, boat cruises on the lakes of Gizycko, Augustow and Mikolajki, hiking and water trails in Wigry and Biebrzanski National Park, exploring the charms of Mazurian and Suwalski Landscape Park like Boulder Barchanowo with the deepest lake of the Central European Lowlands nearby - Lake Hancza (108.5m). Resting here is a guarantee of regaining physical and spiritual balance. We invite you :)
