Description
Can May Vell is a beautiful isolated village house located on the outskirts of the small village of Foixà, surrounded by 6,000 m2 of oaks, pines, vines and olive trees, in a typical Mediterranean setting. The original construction dates back to the 17th century. Subsequently it has been renovated and expanded, preserving the original essence and creating new rooms. Designed to be enjoyed at any time of the year, it has a large garden with grassy areas, a wild forest, olive trees, cypresses, a swimming pool with stunning views of the landscape and the sea on the horizon, as well as a porch and outdoor chill out areas that invite relaxation and long talks and meetings in good company. The interior of the house combines tradition and simplicity with comfort and modernity. All rooms, including all bedrooms, have air conditioning and heat pump. On the first floor, we are welcomed by a hall that gives access to the living room equipped with a fireplace by the Catalan architect and designer Coderch, a dining room with a chandelier from the early twentieth century and a practical toilet with stone walls. The views from the living room are spectacular and invite you to spend long hours enjoying the scenery and the sea. This floor also has a small apartment that integrates a bedroom with private bathroom, living room with TV, library, fireplace and exit to the outside. On the second floor there are four of the six bedrooms of the house, all of them exterior and with bathroom en suite, except one of them that shares the bathroom with the only room on the second floor. There is also a small terrace with a stone bench from where you can enjoy a panoramic view from L'Escala to Begur and glimpse the lighthouse of San Sebastian. A dream place to enjoy the starry nights. In the tower, located on the second floor, is located the sixth double bedroom, with exceptional views. Can May Vell is a place that transmits peace and tranquility, away from noise and haste but located in a strategic point to visit the Empordà, just 20 minutes drive from its incredible coves and beaches. From the house you can take pleasant walks, bike rides and visits to places of historical, gastronomic and artistic interest in the area.
