In the place of Acuña is the Casa do Americano, a house destined to Rural Tourism that dates from the end of the XVIII century. It was built by D. José Fernández, a renowned cook in the area who emigrated to Montevideo in search of new opportunities. After his return, he decided to invest in land and in the construction of this house, which, hence its name, became his legacy. The house combines two types of construction: one part in ashlar and the other in masonry. The property is located on an estate of 700 m², which houses two granaries, a garden, and a saltwater pool from where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Vigo estuary and the Salinas de Ulló, especially the inlet of San Simón. On the first floor of the house, you will find two social rooms, one with a fireplace and the other with a wine press. Next, you will find the dining room and the kitchen, all adapted for people with disabilities. On the main floor, there are six bedrooms, all of them equipped with independent bathroom, heating and wooden floors. Each room offers a cozy and rustic atmosphere, perfect for rest. The covered porch, overlooking the garden, is decorated with a fountain and typical farm implements, creating a perfect environment to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Access for people with reduced mobility is at the top of the house. Pets are allowed, after consultation with the owner. In recreational activities include several hiking trails where you can find everything from windmills to petroglyphs, all signposted. Beautiful circuits for mountain bike lovers, since a Spanish Championship was held there in 2005. With respect to other municipalities is 10 minutes from Vigo, 8 minutes from Pontevedra and very close to Cangas, Moaña, with excellent beaches and landscapes. With communications by means of stretches of fast roads and toll-free highway. Regarding airports, the closest one is Vigo, then Santiago (40 minutes away). As an international airport, 2 hours away, the one in Oporto.
