Description
Nestled between the crystal clear waters of the Ulla River and the imposing presence of the Pico Sacro, Casa Fogar do Ulla is a charming rural house, perfect to disconnect and live the essence of authentic Galicia. Located in the last stage of the Vía de la Plata and only 15 km from Santiago de Compostela, it is the ideal place for pilgrims, nature lovers and travelers in search of tranquility. Fogar do Ulla belongs to our family since the middle of the last century, it has a history linked to the emigration to Argentina, since its owners emigrated to Buenos Aires as my grandfather who had in those days a tobacco delivery in this city. That is where he bought this house from the Hermida family. It had always been a small farmhouse until its owners emigrated. From the 50's to the 80's it served as a rental house for several families of the region. After 40 years without life we recovered our traditional heritage to accommodate visitors who want to know this magnificent region of Santiago de Compostela, bathed by the rivers Ulla and Tambre, and always guarded by the mythical and legandary Pico Sacro, at the gates of the tomb of the Apostle Santiago. It is a small farmhouse of the eighteenth century rehabilitated preserving all its constructive elements. The interior design is modern and innovative, always reinforcing the value of stone and wood, which make this cottage the ideal place to enjoy with the family. With its cozy atmosphere and surrounded by green landscapes, Casa Fogar do Ulla offers the opportunity to rest and enjoy the rural calm. Explore nearby trails, discover legendary stories of the Pico Sacro or simply relax in an environment that combines tradition and comfort. Here, nature and hospitality will make you feel at home. Designed to accommodate up to 4 guests, the house has 1 living room, 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom, offering everything you need for a cozy and comfortable stay. Casa Fogar do Ulla is located in a privileged environment, on the banks of the Ulla River, ideal for canoeing and exploring its breathtaking scenery. Nearby, you can visit the majestic Pico Sacro, known as the "altar of Galicia" in the words of Castelao, and enjoy its viewpoint, its caves and the historic Rúa de la Reina Lupa. Also, in Vedra, very close to the house, you can rent bicycles, canoes and join guided tours to discover more of this beautiful Galician corner.
