SURROUNDINGS: The Quaternary Georparque Project encompasses, in reality, two Regions, that of Guadix and that of Baza- Huéscar that, although they have a similar geological origin at the beginning, their consolidation and the landscape that we are going to find presents differences that make them unique. The Guadix-Baza Basin is one of the great intramountainous depressions of the Betic mountain range. It was a kind of sedimentary "basin" that, over millions of years, was filled with sediments from the erosion of the surrounding mountains until it "clogged". what has created all this? A unique environment where landscapes of maximum contrast converge: High peaks, deserts, rivers, lakes and green valleys in less than 40 kilometers. In addition Sierra Nevada and Sierra de Baza are very close. And if you are in the mood for the city, Granada is just a stone's throw away, as well as countless villages in the Andalusian mountains and countryside.
