New *** Wood-fired oven. Dear guests. We are pleased to invite you to free pizza - 2 pizza/person. Everyone can roll out and top their own pizza. (We provide the Pizza Margarita (dough, spices, tomato sauce and cheese). It is then baked in our wood-fired oven - and you can celebrate in the pavilion whatever the weather. On our Friday baking day, we bake pizza, bread, cakes and meat in the wood-fired oven. Also available to rent for less than a week or a weekend (also as a group of up to 16 people) all year round (except vacations) - please enquire. We, Fritz and Silke Hohe, have been welcoming families with children to our organic farm since 2012. With a lot of love, commitment and genuine hospitality, we want to offer you a relaxing, decelerated and nevertheless eventful vacation. The fact that we are also happy to spoil you with homemade cakes is just the beginning! Sustainable vacation & enjoyment on a family-friendly organic farm Großenohe, an idyllically situated village in the low mountain range landscape "Franconian Switzerland", surrounded by forests and fields, at the foot of the climbing rocks "Drei Zinnen". Ideal starting point for wonderful hikes, climbing or cycling tours, day trips to Nuremberg, Bayreuth or Bamberg. We run a biodynamic farm (Bioland). New pool Location & Size The road to Ferienhof Hohe takes you around numerous bends through the idyllic Krummestal valley. Our organic farm is located right next to the nature reserve in the small, very quiet village of Großenohe in the district of Forchheim. Far away from through traffic, but very close to nature, you can enjoy peace and relaxation in our 2 energy-neutral and comfortably furnished 4-star vacation apartments. The Großenohe spring originates in our lovingly designed garden at the foot of the Drei Zinnen. Year after year, the fire salamanders of the surrounding juniper heaths, once typical of Franconian Switzerland, come to spawn in the babbling brook behind the house. Farm experiences Do you know how ancient cereals protect their grains from pests? What is the difference between einkorn and emmer? How many square meters of a grain field are in a kilo of bread? Answers to these questions can be found on our Bioland-certified farm! We have been practicing biodynamic, extensive farming for around 30 years and cultivate 20 hectares of arable land and forest. In addition to growing oats, barley, peas, lupins, field beans and soybeans, we are particularly dedicated to preserving old crops: Ancient grains such as einkorn, emmer, spelt and kamut grow in our fields. We also grow hemp, triticale and oil flax. In the fields, when baking bread and in the pool: experience sustainability with us! As a committed organic farmer, Fritz likes to explain how organic farming works. I take our guests on the tractor and show them the differences between organic and conventional farming directly in the fields. I also invite guests to bake bread together twice a week: We use homemade natural sourdough made from rye as well as freshly ground spelt and einkorn flour from our own production. It is not unusual for children in particular to discover how good home-baked wholemeal bread tastes - we are happy to give you a sourdough starter. You can also look forward to our heated pool with counter-current system: you can bathe in sustainability in water that is up to 30 degrees! Energy and heat for the pool come from our photovoltaic and solar system with heat pump, and we use an environmentally friendly salt water electrolysis system with pH regulation for water treatment. As a family or group: embark on an adventure! Whether alone with the family, together with grandparents or friends: Our vacation apartments can accommodate up to 16 people and are also suitable for groups. You are welcome to bring your dog with you by prior arrangement. There are also many tours for hikers and mountain bikers that start directly from the Hohe vacation farm. A trip on the steam train in Ebermannstadt or an excursion to Bamberg also guarantee special vacation experiences. A romantic gondola ride will show you the diversity of what we consider to be the most beautiful city in Franconia. If the weather is bad, we recommend a trip to the Nuremberg Toy or Railway Museum. Winter at Ferienhof Hohe Experience the enchanted snowy landscape around our farm while tobogganing, snowshoeing or cross-country skiing and then relax in our wellness oasis: In our small sauna for a maximum of 4 people, you are completely alone and can choose your own temperature and infusion! During Advent, we recommend a visit to the Christmas market at Gut Wolfgangshof: here, artisans such as leather punchers, paper makers and wood turners not only exhibit their wares, but also show you how they work.
