Description

Gavra (from Romanian gaura)-a winter lair of bears, a woodland den or cave in an inaccessible hidden and desolate place. Gawra is a cabin hidden in the heart of the forest. To the nearest buildings is about 1000m in a straight line. The cottage is without electricity and running water. The range is very limited, so the offline mode starts automatically. The whole place is decorated in a buschcraft style, and this is the kind of recreation I want to offer you. Long walks with your four-legged friends in search of animals, which are plentiful in these woods. The possibility of installing a photo trap that will record the movement of animals nearby, leaving you a souvenir in the form of photos and video. For warming up during the winter season there is a stove, which is located inside. Fuel for the stove is provided. Cooking in the summer season is provided by the tourist stove located inside. If you are willing, we can arrange demonstrations of different types of campfires, how to light them, how to choose a campfire for your current needs and weather conditions. Option to be determined. In the Gawra you will also find a rope and a manual that will explain to you how to make basic knots, which sooner or later you will need. The whole thing leans in the direction of survivalism, but for people who want to try this type of activity under slightly more controlled conditions. There is the possibility of making a campfire, if weather conditions permit. Items to bring with you: - a headlamp will work best, but if they are other flashlights that's cool too, the most important thing is to have charged batteries plus batteries in reserve, -sleeping bags or blankets to cover up. In the house there is a bare mattress also the covering is left on your side, sleeping bags are the most practical, if you do not have, blankets or even a quilt can also do. And how! :) - cutlery, cups and plates, they can be disposable, as it is in buschcraft, you need to carry so as not to ask you - food - here there is an opportunity to try military cuisine, so all kinds of rations, canned or dried food comes to the fore. If you feel like sneezing as much as possible you can. -drinking water. In the cottage there is a water jug for the most basic hygiene, drinking water and that needed for cooking is at your discretion, it is a good situation to realize how much water we need for daily functioning. Gawra is located in a large forest complex, where you can walk for hours without leaving it. The interestingly varied terrain starting from fields and meadows, through rivers and glades, and ending with hills will give a lot of pleasure from walking. If you have four-legged friends they will be taken to heaven. Plenty of animals in the area that it is impossible not to meet. Deer, deer, wild boar, wolves, badgers, beavers, foxes, cranes, pheasants, hares, foxes. These and many, many other animals are present in the rookery forest.

For a long time I have been looking for a similar place where you can be alone with yourself, get away from people and just be, among nature, without distractions, focus on yourself. This place perfectly met these conditions. I definitely recommend it for a solo outing. The cottage is designed in a sensible way, it is only obviously quite small, I think that in two people it can be quite cramped but everything can be done. The host willing to help and courteous. The cottage also has folding chairs, a kettle, a tourist stove, a frying pan, a cutting board, candles, or books on herbs or weaves-if you were bored. Of more practical advice- it is useful to take plenty of warm clothes, a head flashlight works best, battery-operated lights will certainly add to the atmosphere, plenty of water- for drinking and cooking, water for basic hygiene is provided by the host in the toilet. I will definitely recommend this place, and someday I may return for a little reset.

A super place to relax! Ideal for a weekend reset or, as in our case, even a 4-day stay. The place is quiet and peaceful, far away from any noise. You can listen to the sound of trees and birds singing, and at times even the sounds of local wildlife. The cottage is equipped with basic kitchen utensils and not just any kitchen utensils, as the frying pan seems to be new, the kettle without rust and stone. In addition, the owner provides a gas stove and a possible supply of gas in a can in case of a longer stay. An inflatable mattress is used as a bed, which surprisingly is comfortable to sleep on and does not hurt the back through it. In a pull-out drawer under the bed you can find a mattress pump, 2 lounge chairs, candles, a dustpan and a sweeper. The owner to provide entertainment throws in from himself a book on herbalism and a long rope with a book on how to tie knots. In addition, behind the wooden house there is a privy along with a sink, water and soap for washing hands. The hut is missing some sort of barrel. At times, with high temperatures and full sun, air ventilation is lacking, although the tragedy is not. During the day you can ventilate the cottage by leaving the door open. There is a mosquito net installed on the entrance, so you can be calm. A small problem may be the outcropping, where this net in the door is not present, and also there there is a lack of air circulation making it difficult to ventilate the interior. When sitting for a long time, one can get more sweaty than on a demanding walk. The cottage and the place to which the king walks adds charm to the "glass" roof made of plexiglass, so you can relax and watch the stars or swaying trees. While relaxing, we were hit by deteriorating weather from day to day, so be sure to bring a warm quilt, some blankets and long warm clothes-it was very cold at night. When the humidity of the forest is suitable it is possible to light a campfire - after prior consultation with the owner of the property. Mr. Nikolai, for an additional fee, offers a walk in the forest + hanging up a photo trap or a tutorial on how to light bonfires. We opted for the former option and are very satisfied with it. The photo trap records the game for a week, and then Mr. Nikolai sends a link to a Google drive with photos and recordings. We had a long walk in the forest together listening to interesting facts about the forests and the animals. During the walk we felt as if we were being guided by a guide. The conversation was very interesting, and moments of brief silence were seamlessly blurred by a dose of further curiosities. Even for someone who is not too interested in these matters, the topic is really interesting. The owner of the facility is very polite and willing to talk about any topic. It is worth noting that he is also properly sensitive to safety issues. Fate would have it that shortly after the walk, the weather turned bad and a storm appeared. Mr. Nikolai offered us a roof over our heads in his private property, all the while actively watching the storm radar. We also received a helping hand on the last day of our vacation, when our car keys snapped. To our surprise, Mr. Nicholas was eager to help despite the late hour (after 11 pm). Despite the small number of downsides, it is worth visiting this place and enjoying nature. We, in order to diversify our time, watched horror movies at night, and one night we went for a walk in the area meeting some animals. In addition, we recommend taking some books with you. The situation with the cottage seems to be developing, and from a conversation with the owner it seems that he has plans to make a circulator and some other things ;) If someone is not able to survive on canned food there is a McDonald's near Szklarka. The range in the forest is severely limited which is a plus. Despite the ugly weather, we consider that the stay was successful, and having a rope, creativity forces you to act which also provides entertainment. You can at least make a place to air your clothes or create "gazebo" using 3 trees and an extra blanket, for example, so that even in rainy weather you can sit outside and eat beans from a can 😂 The stay made us realize how much garbage is produced by humans and our need for water. We will definitely come back again 😉
