Description
Kowalowka - accommodation in the Low Beskid Mountains The house, an old Lemko cottage, was built in 1934. The name "Kowalówka" is a reference to the hamlet where it is located, precisely in this place there were three forges for centuries. The house has been undergoing extensive renovation for four years, but our goal was to make use of as many original elements as possible and give the place the right atmosphere. Until the end of World War II, the house was inhabited by the Wal family of Lemkos, who after the war ended were forced to move out and live in what is now Ukraine. Their house was inhabited by displaced persons from the borderlands of the Second Polish Republic. That is why we decided to use a bilingual name also written in Cyrillic. The entire house is divided into three independent segments: "Hucul" and "Malopolanka" have decor in a horse/coal climate "Podkowa" is finished in a motorcycle climate, because our life and passion revolve around motorcycles and Podkowa is one of the first Polish motorcycles produced in the interwar period. Each segment is designed for up to six people and consists of a living room on the first floor and a bedroom in the attic, has its own independent entrance and a bathroom, and would be perfect for a family with children. The common element of the entire house is a large wooden terrace and a kitchen connected to the dining room. From the segments "Hucul" and "Malopolanka" we have a direct entrance to the kitchen, and from the "Horseshoe" we go to the kitchen through the terrace. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the necessary equipment for preparing meals and tableware. The rooms are equipped with bed linen and towels. Outside there is a place to light a bonfire. For those who wish, we provide a wood-fired sauna. It is possible to rent only the sauna itself for the so-called "sauna evenings". Terms and conditions of the sauna rental are agreed individually.
