SURROUNDINGS Cerro Guisando is an exceptional place from an ecological point of view. It has different microclimates due to its different orientations with respect to the sun, which makes possible a great variety of plant life and, consequently, also of animal life adapted to each type of forest. There are chestnut, oak and pine forests in an interesting mix of continental and Mediterranean climates. Numerous birds and mammals are found in such forests. Cerro guisando is also known for its mycological interest, mushrooms grow here in variety and abundance. The walking trails are very varied and just walking out of the house you will have many options. Two of the most emblematic places of the region are very close: The romantic ruins of the Monastery of Guisando and the Celtiberian sanctuary of the Toros de Guisando. And once you take the car you will have access to the endless possibilities offered by the Regional Park of Gredos. You will need several lifetimes to complete the possibilities offered by this park, both for the variety of biotypes and for the historical richness of its villages, sanctuaries and ruins.
