Description
„Rogate domki” is three wooden cottages, set in a charming spot surrounded by forests and green open spaces, created with the idea of building the perfect place to unwind. Each cottage has; - on the ground floor - a panoramic living room (sofa bed), with a kitchen and dining table, a bathroom with shower, underfloor heating, a fireplace, TV (Netflix only) and a terrace furnished with garden furniture, - upstairs - a large bed (180x200) and a freestanding bathtub, air conditioning - a barbecue area, - a traditional, wood-fired outdoor sauna, - fast internet (perfect for remote work). Both the living room and the bedroom look out onto the nearby Mount Kamiennik and soothing green woodland. Because the cottages have no internal partition walls (except for the bathroom), they're perfect for couples or families with children. Groups of friends are welcome to book two or three cottages at once (but please note that quiet hours apply from 10pm, so parties are not allowed). Pets are welcome, for an additional fee of 25 PLN per night, payable on site. The cottages are located in the village of Zasań in the Beskid Wyspowy (Island Beskids), which got its name because its peaks are surrounded by wide valleys that make them look like solitary islands. The highest peak of the Beskid Wyspowy is Mogielnica; other notable peaks include Luboń Wielki, Ćwilin, Śnieżnica, Lubogoszcz and Kudłacze. You can hike to Kudłacze from the cottages via Kamiennik and return via Poręba. There's a mountain hut on Kudłacze serving delicious meals. About 500 metres from the cottages is the entrance to a forest, through which runs the „Forget-me-not trail” along the Dobczyce Reservoir. The forest also has two hills worth a visit: Trupielec and Ostrysz. About 10 kilometres away is „Kasina Ski & Bike Park” — a perfect spot for skiers in winter and a paradise for cyclists in summer. Nine trails of varying difficulty, a modern, fast chairlift, a pumptrack bike playground, a mini gym and a playground. Bikes can also be rented on site. Also worth recommending are the seasonal retro train rides from the Railway Rolling Stock Open-Air Museum in Chabrówka to Kasina Wielka. Nearby there are also several sites included in the Małopolska Wooden Architecture Trail, including churches in Raciechowice, Gruszów and Wiśniowa, a hermitage in Krzesławice Podkamień, and an open-air museum in Dobczyce. Zarabie in Myślenice is also worth a visit, where you can swim in the crisp, crystal-clear Raba river. Along the banks of the Raba there are pebble beaches, several playgrounds, a rope park, a skatepark and a kayak rental. While at Zarabie, it's worth seeing the Zamczysko Nature Reserve with the ruins of a medieval stronghold that once guarded the trade route from Hungary to Poland. You can also hike up, or take the comfortable chairlift up, Mount Chełm. The cottages are close to Kraków, just 35 km away. From here you can also take a day trip to; Lanckorona (the most creative little town near Kraków), Wieliczka or Bochnia (with a salt mine and archaeological park), the Castle and Forest in Niepołomice, Wadowice, Zakopane, the Chochołowskie thermal baths in Białka Tatrzańska, or the closer, more intimate Gorce thermal baths, near which the trail to Turbacz begins.
