Description
This cottage is the younger sister of our Horned Cottages in Zasanie. The Horned Cottage by the Reservoir is located in the village of Kornatka, on the shore of the Dobczyce Reservoir. It offers a beautiful view, and all you can hear around you is birdsong. This is a single-storey cottage consisting of: - a bedroom with a double bed and a bathtub overlooking the forest, - a bathroom with a shower, - a living room with a sofa bed and a fully equipped kitchenette. In the garden, there is also a private wood-fired sauna (included in the stay), as well as a barbecue and relaxation area. This is the only cottage on the fenced property, ensuring maximum privacy. Your only neighbours will be the forest and the reservoir. Our water comes from a deep well. It is good-quality water (tested), but unfortunately contains a lot of iron, which gives it a slightly yellow colour. The iron content has absolutely no adverse effects on your health. The water also has a distinctive smell. If you think this might bother you, it would be better to choose one of our other cottages (for example, the Horned Cottage by the Beaver Reserve is very similar). The village of Kornatka is 30 km from Kraków, in the western part of the Island Beskids. The nearly 12 km Niezapominajka Trail runs near the cottage, leading through the beautiful Dobczyce forests and passing several scenic viewpoints. A little further away, 4 km from the cottage, is the medieval castle in Dobczyce, with a beautiful open-air museum and a dam on the reservoir. There are some interesting hills in the nearby forest: Ostysz and Trupielec. And on hot days, you can dip your feet in the Dobczyce Reservoir. Swimming is officially prohibited here, but thanks to that, it is hard to find anyone on the beach, even in midsummer. Fans of mountain hiking won't be bored here either: you can take on the Crown of the Island Beskids, which includes as many as 40 peaks, two of which—Lubomir and Mogielnica—are also part of the Crown of Polish Mountains. The “Enchanted Hill” is also nearby—a beautifully situated horse-riding school. Families with children are encouraged to visit “Animal Island” near Wieliczka.
