Around it, the volcanoes of Guenia, TinaMala, La Caldera and Las Calderetas are sometimes a good shelter from the winds. Originally the village was located on the slope of the mountain where the cemetery is today, since from that location the merchant ships could be seen. This advantage made that, in turn, the Moors sacked their houses on multiple occasions, so its inhabitants moved to the lower part, where the mountains offered them greater security.
