I am Katharina Dustmann, the hostess of this special vacation home. Even when I'm not there myself, it's very important to me that my guests feel at home from the very first moment. I planned, built and furnished the house with great attention to detail - just as I would want a place to take a deep breath. As an artist, atmosphere plays a major role for me, and many small decisions in the house are the result of this eye for shapes, colors and moods. The large terrace was particularly important to me. I know how good it feels to look out over the valley, enjoy the light and have the sun around you all day long. This space should provide room for peace and quiet, for moments in the open air, for breakfast with a view or an evening that ends in silence. I don't like sterile rooms. Instead, I value cosiness, natural materials and a warm, inviting atmosphere. Everything I have designed here should help guests to arrive, switch off and feel completely at ease - without much effort or complicated processes.
