Description
Ania and I created a forest retreat in a place we stumbled upon by chance. It turned out to be the fulfillment of our dream of space, nature, and silence. We divide our time between our homes in Warsaw and Masuria, so we understand perfectly how much we all need a break sometimes. Here, we slow down. But here, it’s allowed. After all, this is Wolny Las. We’re offering you four glamping tents. Święty Spokój, Wolny Czas, and Stan Wytchnienia welcome families or groups of friends, while the two-person Wieczny Odpoczynek tent awaits couples seeking closeness to nature. Each tent is a cozy little home with all the comforts of home: a comfortable bed with fresh-smelling linens and a private bathroom with a shower. You can prepare your own meals on-site or drive to nearby restaurants. The tents feature kitchenettes with all the necessary cooking utensils, including an induction stove and a drip coffee maker. The spacious terraces and dining areas overlooking the forest are just begging for you to enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner there. Even simple scrambled eggs taste different here, I promise! The tent walls are made of canvas. In the summer, this is a great advantage and ensures good ventilation, but during the off-season (in May or September), the nights can get chilly here. It’s worth packing a warm sweater or an extra sleeping bag in your suitcase. Our little patch of forest lies on Lake Szymonek. From the pier, you can see the green shores and hidden coves, which are best explored from a SUP (they’re waiting for you on-site, at your disposal). Our shoreline is rather wild. The bottom here is muddy, so there’s no fishing or swimming directly from the pier. If you’re dreaming of a classic beach day, a beach with a pier and crystal-clear water is just a five-minute walk from us. Won’t I get bored? Here, boredom is intentional and fully embraced. On-site, you’ll find hammocks strung among the trees, board games for quiet evenings, and a small library. For children, we offer a return to old-fashioned summer fun: running barefoot, swings, jumping on the trampoline, and days with sandy feet—all screen-free. If you’re looking for a change of pace, the vibrant world of Masuria awaits you within a 20–30-minute drive: Ryn (about a 10-minute drive from us): A charming little town with an old mill, watchtowers, and a massive Teutonic castle, at the foot of which a leisurely, sailing-oriented life unfolds. Mikołajki (about a 25-minute drive from us): Definitely not “quiet,” but full of restaurants with live music, the buzz of summer visitors, and a view of the forest of masts in the famous Sailing Village. Giżycko (about 35 minutes by car from us): With the impressive Boyen Fortress, a unique manually operated swing bridge, and the Water Tower, which offers a beautiful panoramic view of the surrounding lakes. Surrounded by nature and animals: For families with children, the nearby Kadzidłowo Wildlife Park is a must-see. Right next door is a partner horse farm where you can book horseback riding lessons or trail rides. The area around the tents is a zone of relaxation and quiet. We protect the birds’ songs and care about our guests’ peace and quiet, which is why we do not accept reservations for bachelorette parties, bachelor parties, or organized events.
