La Cabaña del Abuelo is a beautiful house located in the region of Selaya, a place of valleys and forests that reach as far as the eye can see. In the interior of Cantabria and in the heart of the Valles Pasiegos is this vacation home just 15 km. from the Nature Park of Cabarceno. Carefully restored to preserve the architecture and style of the area, it has all the comforts, wifi zone and exceptional views. Upon arrival a beautiful wooden covered porch at the entrance of the house, welcomes the traveler and gives an idea of the atmosphere that permeates the area. Its large garden is surrounded by the typical "wall" of stone used to separate the boundaries, has a barbecue and a stone picnic area with incredible views. It also includes a parking area for guests. In cattle land, these houses were used to give shelter to the cattle and shepherds, now it becomes the perfect refuge for 8 people in its four rooms: yellow, maroon, blue and sand, several of them with access to terrace and all with large windows through which to contemplate nature. The house has 2 complete bathrooms, each one on a different floor, the one on the upper floor has a whirlpool bathtub. The first floor stands out for a successful distribution that leaves a game of spaces and heights, ceilings and beams that achieves a feeling of spaciousness next to the stairwell in the living room with fireplace, TV, DVD and collection of board games. The kitchen stands out for its American bar in exposed brick and rustic style wood paneled furniture. It is equipped with wooden benches, all appliances and kitchenware. To a cabin decorated and thought to detail must be added the environment, the region of Selaya, land of valleys is one of the most beautiful of the community. Two rivers run through this territory, the Pisueña and Campillo, where you can also find mountains, forests and meadows. In Valvanuz itself is the famous sanctuary dedicated to the virgin of the same name, which preserves a wood carving from the late twelfth century. In the region you can visit some elements declared of cultural interest, such as the cubes and heraldic roll, ancient cylindrical stone constructions used to promote Christian piety among travelers or to commemorate milestones or dates.
