Description

An exquisite accommodation in the heart of the land. This cave, of superior category, sleeps 8 people. It consists of a living-dining room with fireplace and television, a full kitchen, a large terrace with porch and 4 double rooms. Each room is named after a plant typical of the semi-desert landscape that surrounds our caves (Paraíso, Retama, Taral, Esparto). In the past, the inhabitants of the caves worked the gypsum that is found in great quantity in the subsoil. This field, so different from other areas of Spain, was called: "Las Yeseras". Still, walking around here, you can find traces of extraction mines and storage wells. They also took advantage of the native plants: with the Retama they built overhangs on the top of their facades to protect them from the rain. The treatment of Esparto became a very important industry in the area and until the 50's all their agricultural implements were made of this material. In the cave, each room has its own private bathroom (with bathtub, shower, hair dryer, radiator and towel rack). All beds are double beds. All rooms have central heating, TV, DVD player. Paraíso and Retama also have a fireplace. In this cave you can also enjoy an infrared sauna with D.C. reader, a water area to go from cold to hot and vice versa, a small relaxation room with a loft where you can lie down and watch the scenery. The cave is designed for groups of friends or families who want to get together having the great option of preserving their privacy and enjoy at the same time unique spaces. The first batch of firewood is a gift. The cave has free Wi-Fi. Barbecue available.

Once upon a time in the Hoya de Baza there was an immense blue lake, where mammoths and rhinoceroses grazed under the watchful eye of the first European man, whose remains can be admired today in the museum of the nearby village of Orce. Until forty years ago, in this wild, beautiful and forgotten part of the province of Granada, small troglodyte villages were scattered on the shores of the gullies that were formed when the old lake dried up. Today we welcome you to one of these villages where in the past, Moors, gypsum miners and humble peasants took refuge. We offer you a magnificent and unrepeatable journey into the depths of time, in beautiful dwellings, testimony of a unique way of life, furnished with all the comforts of the 21st century. Nestled in this unusual land, you will enjoy one of your sweetest stays in Spain, the warmth and softness of our Hammam, our Arabian-Andalusian delicacies, immersed in the peace and the lushness of Andalusian nights of dreams...
