Description
La Clairière du Verbamont is a small, family-run eco-retreat hidden deep in the forests of the Vosges, France. More than a place to stay, it is a way of slowing down, reconnecting with nature, and rediscovering simple joys far from mass tourism and standardized accommodation. Run by Christophe and Liesbeth, the Clairière was built step by step with care, reclaimed materials, and a strong commitment to ecological values. Here, everything is designed to respect the living world: off-grid wooden cabins, dry toilets, low-impact facilities, homemade food, and a daily rhythm guided by daylight, seasons, and weather rather than schedules. Guests can stay in handcrafted cabins, tree-level lodges, or rural camping pitches, all nestled in a peaceful clearing surrounded by trees. Each accommodation is unique, imperfect in the best possible way, and designed to feel warm, welcoming, and human. There is no television, no artificial entertainment — only birdsong, crackling fires, forest paths, and shared moments. Animals are part of daily life at the Clairière. Rabbits, ducks, geese, cats, and chickens roam freely, delighting children and reminding adults of a slower, more grounded way of living. This is a place where families reconnect, couples unplug, and solo travelers find calm and perspective.
