Description
Agrotourism Polana Lichoniowa is a place with tradition, history – a sense of the value of past life - a slowdown in today’s hustle and bustle. The cottage is located in the village of Sucha Struga in the Rytro commune, in the Beskid Sądecki, just 7.5 km from the border with Slovakia. In the area, there are numerous trails - Schronisko Cyrla, Łabowska Hala, Prehyba, Radziejowa, as well as a base for trips towards the Tatra Mountains and Pieniny, and many cycling routes (Euro Venlo). The house was built before World War II by my grandfather and grandmother, where their children and our parents were born. It is located a kilometer from the asphalt road, and access to the cottage is via a forest road, requiring a 4x4 vehicle, especially in winter when getting out with a non-4x4 vehicle is rather impossible. In case of lacking such a vehicle, the host is happy to transport guests along with their luggage. There are no other houses in the vicinity where neighbors live - the closest is the Cyrla shelter, which is a 2.5 km walk from the cottage. The agrotourism is situated on nearly a 2-hectare plot sloping towards the road. Around the cottage, there is only forest, and below flows the Głęboczanka stream, whose murmur can be heard while spending time outside. A large space, no neighbors, an unexpected place. Outside, there is a wood-fired jacuzzi, a large gazebo with a table for table tennis and foosball, and inside the house, a draft. Outside, there is a playground for children with a sandbox, and the phone signal around the house is minimal, with a chance of one bar of signal when stepping out nearby onto a hill. Stable satellite Internet is installed inside the cottage and outside. The cottage did not have electrical installation a few years ago, and during the renovation, efforts were made to preserve tradition, history, and memory of ancestors. The interior of the house feels the spirit of those times - numerous paintings - family memorabilia, many items from the PRL era and even earlier times. Paintings and postcards from our area, a library containing numerous old publications on photography, postcards, and former customs of our region. During the war, people seeking shelter lived there, and right after the war, in difficult times, people who disagreed with the regime. The cottage was visited by Father Gurgacz - an extraordinary figure. The cottage has a bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, three rooms, and a living room with comfortable beds, clean linen, and towels, a coffee maker, coffee, tea, sugar, and something sweet for the youngest. Hosts Piotr and Renata know the area perfectly, they know where to go with children, where to head into the mountains, which places to visit, living about 2 km from the cottage and are at guests' disposal. We are passionate people, we do not sell a product - we are with guests in real-time - each visit is accompanied by the story of this unique place for us - we feel a great connection with customers, we know the tourist trails very well, and we adjust trips and proposals to the group of guests. I know exactly where to buy local healthy sheep and cow products, where to buy homemade eggs, and if you want to drink żentyca, I know where to get it. I know where the natural mineral waters are and can point out their healing properties. If guests want, we serve breakfasts - we advise where to best eat regional food, also in Slovakia, where the dishes differ from our native cuisine.
