Description
The name Smugi comes partly from the beautiful sunsets and mainly from the local term for steep, damp meadows between the hills. Smugi Guest House is a six-person, self-contained house located in the Brodnica Lake District. The year-round, brick building has electric heating and a stylish wood-burning stove of the chrystek type. On the first floor of the house, you will find two cozy bedrooms and two bathrooms with showers, as well as a spacious hallway leading to a large balcony. On the ground floor, there is a living area. The open living room with a kitchen annex smoothly transitions to a terrace with a large table. Additionally, there is a library with good books, plenty of art on the walls, and decent wifi. Surrounding the house is a large yard with a fire pit, a playground, and direct access to the forest. Just beyond the fence runs a safe, over 20-kilometer bike path following the route of an old railway line. Smugi is located on a shared yard with the hosts of the property. It’s like having friendly neighbors ready to help whenever you need it. You can order a breakfast basket and local products on-site. Kayaks are also available for rent - the Drwęca River is right next door. The hosts run a non-governmental organization: the Foundation for Landscape Initiatives Wybudowania. Professionally and out of passion, they deal with local heritage and nature. If you need tips or a guide around the area: you couldn't find better. There is much to explore. Within walking or biking distance, you can find: - Brodnicki Landscape Park, which offers plenty of wild beaches by lakes scattered among forests, a fishing and folk culture museum, and above all, excellent bike trails; - the rivers Skarlanka, Drwęca, and a bit further, Wel, which create an extensive water system designed for kayaking trips; each of these rivers is different and unique; - the ski resort Kurza Góra with snow-covered slopes, an ice rink, and a great restaurant; - small towns like Nowe Miasto Lubawskie, Kurzętnik, and the nearby Brodnica with its monuments and atmospheric places; - most importantly: the atmosphere of balanced relaxation with local residents, without destroying the landscape, environment, and external capital. We invite you!
