Description
Shack on the Trail is a place with a long history, which will be appreciated by Tatra lovers who want to be as close to those Tatras as possible. Without wasting time commuting or looking for parking. Without neighbors, but at a safe distance from the main road. 🌺 Attention: We strongly discourage you from coming with the intention of partying and we strongly caution against it. Check-in is possible from 16:00 to 20:00 by prior arrangement of the planned time of arrival. Sometimes we manage to arrange a much faster check-in, if possible we will let you know. On the other hand, we do not check-in late at night. We dedicate the shack to mature people (age 25+ and their children) who are looking for rest, peace and closeness to nature. Currently, most of the furnishings and furniture, and even items such as stairs and windows, have been made by our family members or obtained by us from various places and renovated by our own hands. 🌺 Attention: The house is always rented on an exclusive basis, but the total number of rooms and bathrooms provided depends on the offer. For example, in a standard offer for two people, we provide the entire first floor of the building, that is, a large living room with kitchen, coffee corner, fireplace, bathroom, toilet and the brightest room on the first floor. You will find all the information in our short terms and conditions. Also read at the end of the description about the access road to us and the rare but possible difficulties in winter. We have a total of 12 beds in 5 rooms. We usually accommodate up to 10 people. AVAILABLE ROOMS - depending on the offer and arrangements First floor: #1 (140cm and 80cm beds) Floor: #2 (160cm) #3 (2x80cm) #4 (160 and 80cm) #5 (2x80cm). Peace, quiet and the sound of the wind, meaning you can work inside and outside. We do not have public Internet, but Guests received high-speed LTE on phones and mobile routers without any problems. If you run out of dates at the Chalet, we have something else for 2 to 5 people. An atmospheric house in Witow on the basis of the former carpenter's shop of grandfather Alka with the graceful name "Sheep behind the fence": https://alohacamp.com/pl/property/owca-za-plotem-1299 How to live here? Wooolllnnooo... :) You cook yourself what and when you want. We will send a list of noteworthy nearest inns. Many of them are within a leisurely walk of 10 to 20 minutes. You can also order delivery almost to your house, or more precisely, under the barrier to the Ley Valley and run down the hill to pick it up. There is a fire pit with a grill and benches. We also have a portable table and two portable benches outside, which means you can also have breakfast where you want if the weather permits :) A neighborhood for young and old: Imagination can go wild. A powerful clearing surrounded by forests. It's not uncommon to encounter wild animals here, which you can observe from a hide. The nearest Funnel Creek 150m below, well, because who doesn't like to build a dam and bury a stick in the water. How about feasting together around a campfire? There are benches, there is a grate for grilling, there is a hearth in the legendary cast iron rim. In the warm season, we also set up a hammock and leave some portable deck chairs. Outdoor games and activities? There is no shortage of cheap, portable sets for all kinds of outdoor games and activities in the stores. What our place offers, above all, is a minimum of neighbors, space and proximity to mountain nature. It is also worth taking a blanket and walking 15 minutes to the beginning of Chocholowska Valley. By the Chocholowski Potok you will find many beautiful and secluded places to lounge in the spring sunshine. High mountains and valleys It's not just for adults, as the younger ones can be put in a cable car to Gubalowka or Kasprowy Wierch. Here no one counts the days, as each adventure goes on and on, and there is always not enough time. Straight from your doorstep you will set off to the Lejowa, Chocholowska and Koscieliska Valleys, and further on the trails into the real mountains. Mind-cleansing excursions for days surrounded by fascinating nature regardless of the season. Geothermal pools The choice is not small, but you can get to the nearest and also the largest in Podhale Chocholowskie Thermal Baths in a dozen minutes. We'll give you discount coupons. Of the typical open-air pools, the Geothermal Baths on Glade Szymoszkowa are also worth a visit. Especially in the summer sun you will appreciate the view of the mountains from them. Winter time We build igloos in the clearing, make snowmen, dig secret passages as we get snowed in, sled down the mountain. The nearest ski slope (trails for beginners and skilled) and rental shop is a 10-minute walk from the Chalet. You can also find other slopes and winter attractions within a dozen minutes by car. We also give directions to a sleigh ride. Zakopane and Krupówki Krupówki Street needs no introduction, although we do not recommend it in high season unless you need to visit stores, bookstores or equip yourself with mountain equipment. Zakopane and its surroundings offer a whole bunch of different attractions, such as a dinosaur park or an ice maze in winter. You can google them all, so we won't elaborate. Rather, we focus on advising how you can take a break from the crowds and besieged attractions. These instead are worth visiting as any - in the off-season. Culture and art There are museums, galleries, monuments, and besides, on August 15 on Siwa Polana (next to the entrance to Chocholowska Valley), some 900m from the hut, the Tatra Watra Forest Festival takes place. It is an open-air event, with competitions, tasting of local delicacies. During the day there are competitions such as finding the largest cep (boletus), lumberjack competitions, carrying logs of wood, etc. In the evening you can dance to highland music. All this is just a part of the possibilities for spending time here, because there are also, for example, bicycles for rent and detours along the beautiful scenic route towards Slovakia, and in winter it is worthwhile to go cross-country skiing on specially prepared, lighted trails. Some people also arrange cross-country ski trails around the clearing at the Chalet. This is another way to get active in the outback. There is a quad bike rental shop nearby, and dog sledding also appears in the winter. These attractions are close enough that there is virtually no need to go by car. You can also find many fantastic places on the Slovak side.
