Description
Discover The Wagon, a unique off-grid retreat nestled in the heart of the Peak District, where rustic charm meets modern comfort. Perched atop a gentle hill within your own private field, this beautifully converted 1970s Bedford horsebox offers sweeping countryside views and a true escape into nature. Wake up to the gentle sounds of the farm and enjoy your morning coffee on the covered porch, surrounded by rolling green fields. Inside, The Wagon is thoughtfully designed for comfort: a cosy double bed with panoramic views, a wood burner for chilly evenings, and a fully equipped kitchenette for preparing delicious meals. Recharge with solar-powered electricity, and unwind by the fireplace or under the glow of fairy lights and lanterns. Step outside and explore miles of walking trails straight from your door—wander through Narrow Dale, Beresford Dale, and the enchanting Manifold Valley, or venture to Thors Cave for breathtaking vistas. During lambing season (late March to mid-May), guests are invited to meet the newest arrivals in the lambing shed, making your stay truly memorable. Perfect for couples or small families, The Wagon sleeps two adults, with ample space for children to camp nearby. Bring your well-behaved dog and let them roam the enclosed field, but please be mindful of the sheep grazing nearby. After a day of adventure, relax at a local pub or enjoy a quiet evening under the stars. Practicalities: Free private parking for up to two cars, a walk-in shower and toilet, and all linens and towels provided. The Wagon is located on a working family farm—your hosts are always nearby to offer tips on local sights or arrange a guided tour of the farm. Please note, a short walk (about 100m) up a moderate incline leads from the parking area to your retreat—sturdy shoes are recommended, especially in wet weather. Reconnect with nature, savour the peace of the countryside, and create lasting memories at The Wagon - your rustic, off-grid haven in the Peak District.
