Description
The story is set in picturesque Osieki Lęborskie, where tourist hustle and bustle is still avoided and the space has defended itself from the commercial chaos of the coast. This place, right next to the most beautiful, almost undiscovered beaches, is full of not only natural treasures, but also a rich history. At the heart of this story is the von Krockow family, whose trace is still present despite the passage of years. The beautiful palace that once belonged to the counts has long since disappeared, but testimonies of the past still stand here - a church with a stone font, a granary, a people's house, a kindergarten, a former restaurant and two parsonages. One of them, the oldest one, houses our home. Our life in Osieki is inextricably linked to the history of my grandparents. After the war, they came here from different corners of Poland - grandfather Stanislaw lost his family estate in the Lublin region, and grandmother Alicja had to leave her manor near Warsaw, where she developed her musical talents. In Pomerania, grandfather took a job as Chief Plant Breeder at the Potato Breeding Institute in Gdansk, and grandmother continued her passion for music, composing, organizing concerts and bands. They were given an apartment in a large 1930s house that had formerly served as a parsonage, actually a pastor's house at an evangelical church. In this house they created a real center of life, full of passion, love for people, nature and art. This energy, this ability to see beauty in everything, was passed down through the generations. Today I am fulfilling their dream - we still live in the same house, we take care of everything they built, and its old elements, like the green shutters, have returned to their place after the renovation. Guests who visit our house feel like a family space again. We have prepared two apartments for you, inspired by the characters of Grandpa Staszek and Grandma Ali. We still can't fathom how she managed to bring a piano, furniture and a chest full of family photos to Osiek, but these treasures still adorn the interiors. So I invite you to Kashubia - 5 kilometers from the sea, to an orchard full of plums and nuts, to a house smelling of apple pie, full of history and warmth.
