THE FARM El vagón is located on a 3 hectare farm, 15 minutes from Madrid. On the top of a hill and surrounded by holm oaks and junipers The farm is fenced, so you can walk in absolute freedom, enjoying the smell of thyme, rosemary and rockrose. It is usual to see rabbits, wood pigeons and the occasional partridge and, at night, to hear the cuckoo. El Vagón is not suitable for children. Autumn invites to walks and mushroom picking, to roast acorns and chestnuts in the fireplace, to have a hot soup with vegetables from the garden and enjoy a good book in the warm evening light. THE WAGON This is the first project carried out by Wagonstill, a company dedicated to the restoration and refurbishment of wagons for different uses since 2006. It is a practically extinct model, restored with maximum respect for the original elements. It consists of living room, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and cantilevered terrace. It is accessed through the living room where we are greeted by a comfortable round table of the nineteenth century, a sofa bed and a wrought iron fireplace. The kitchen is equipped with two gas burners, refrigerator, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, sink, pantry and a small breakfast bar. The bathroom is comfortable and has a good shower. The bedroom, separated from the living room by a dense curtain, is slightly elevated, making it possible to have an open space or an intimate place, as appropriate. The 8 windows facing each other and the ceiling fan in the bedroom provide very good passive ventilation, however, in order to achieve greater comfort, an air conditioner has recently been installed. From the living room, on the opposite side of the entrance, there is access to a generous cantilevered terrace, an ideal place to feel between the countryside and home and to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner among oaks. SURROUNDINGS Madrid is 20 minutes away by car and the mountains 30 minutes away. You will be able to enjoy everything you wish having both the city and the mountains equally close.
