Description

At Fort Wapiti you will stay overnight in a real Indian tepee. You will spend the night by the fire burning inside, on a bed covered with soft blankets and skins, just as Indians and trappers used to do. Before falling asleep, you can gaze at the fire or at the stars shining through the open wind chimes. In our Indian open-air museum you can travel back in time and touch living history. Do you want to feel the atmosphere of a real old Indian encampment, relax by the fire, enjoying the beautiful panorama, peace and fresh air, then you must visit this unusual place. Due to the nature of the facility, it is necessary for each guest to bring their own sleeping bag, which were not available in Indian camps in the past.

The place where Fort Wapiti is located is absolutely wonderful. There you can feel an incredible closeness to nature, fall asleep by the light of the campfire in the Tipi, look at the stars, which you can see perfectly from there, because no city light reaches you, or listen to the night calls of the tawny owls. There is also a campfire site where you can roast sausages, a field kitchen for preparing meals, many covered shelters to eat at the table, and full sanitary facilities (showers and toilets). I highly recommend this place. We will definitely return here. Mr. Darek is a wonderful man, passionate, with lots of stories, which were so great to listen to by the campfire at night.

A great place for a temporary break from the hustle and bustle of the city. Cozy tents, a friendly and helpful owner, an unforgettable campfire under the stars :) Really worth a visit, if only for one night.

Privately, I am a husband and father, while at work I am a passionate storyteller, handicraftsman, traveler and lover of Indian culture. I love to pass on to children and young people the values I learned from the Indians: ecology, attachment to family, hospitality, generosity... I am also passionate about the art of survival, so I can teach you simple and effective survival techniques such as starting a fire in difficult conditions, building a simple shelter, sewing simple clothing from deerskin made with my own hands, tracking in the field.
