Description
Gierkówka is a house with an unusual history! It was supposedly built by the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Polish United Workers' Party Edward Gierek. Here you will forget about the whole world. You will rest from people, noise and from civilization. You will sink into the soothing sound of water and trees. Gierkówka is a secluded place, just perfect for guests looking for true rest and privacy. On the Internet you can find articles about it: "Inspectors have determined that Jerzy Gierek, Edward's younger son, still has a villa in Stańcówka near Zwardoń - built with money from... the Agricultural and Food Combine in Szczekociny. The villa cost more than 1.6 million zlotys, and Jerzy Gierek paid only 201,000 zlotys. Jerzy Gierek did not have a building permit from the Rajcza Municipality; agricultural land was taken away from the owner for construction; the water source necessary for local farms to water cattle was cut off." - We read in the documents from "Moczar's closet". Traces of the past are still visible. The history of the place can be seen in antique furniture, old leather lampshades, copper window sills, hand-forged doorknobs and trusses. The house has undergone a major renovation in recent years. It has been enriched with modern amenities, such as air conditioning and monitoring. The kitchen has been richly equipped (dishwasher, induction hob). The terrace was extended, from which one can listen to the sound of the stream, the singing of birds and admire the centuries-old spruce trees. In the summer season, guests can cool off in a pleasant garden pool with a slide. And in winter we recommend using the atmospheric sauna with a new electric stove and a comfortable shower. In the evening you will relax by the fireplace, which is the heart of the entire house. All this makes the stay here is not a trip to the past to the communist times, but a discreet reference to traditions free from Chinese trash and metropolitan rush, when the work of human hands, the fruits of the earth and the gifts of nature were valued. The location of Gierkova is its greatest asset, but also - its greatest curse. This is because it is hidden deep in the forest and is accessible only by a blind forest road - basically impassable in winter. In the summer, the braver ones can get here by SUV (with higher suspension) - because the daredevils will have to cross a stream and muddy mountain ruts. The rest of the visitors will enjoy a pleasant half-hour walk through the charming forest, which is an attraction in itself. Along the way you will draw water from a mountain spring, calm down and oxygenate yourself while breathing in the exceptionally clean mountain air. Additional charges billed on site: - for electricity according to consumption (2 PLN / kW) - for firewood (150 PLN / night)
