Description
About a kilometer and a half from our yurts, in the heart of the Low Beskids, the first oil flowed, inscribing the region in the rich history of the oil industry. The Gorlice region boasts a remarkable tradition in this field, and Gorlice is particularly famous as the birthplace of Ignacy Lukasiewicz, the inventor of the famous kerosene lamp. Today, a scenic educational trail leads along Puste Pole, the site of the first oil mine in the area, to explore this fascinating history. However, this is just one of the many traces of the past waiting to be discovered. You will find yourself in the Lemko region, a land rich in culture and history. If you feel like it, we will be happy to take you on a tour of ancient Lemko villages, where time seems to flow more slowly and the past is still present in the landscape. Our greatest passion is travel, both near and far. It was the inspiration brought back from expeditions to Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia that led us to create the yurts in Ovchary that we love so much. Their unique circular design hides something magical - it gives a sense of harmony, peace and promotes complete relaxation. To bring even more atmosphere, we equipped our yurts with handmade furniture, made from wood from the demolition of old local barns. We invite you on an exotic trip without the need to go far - to a charming forest glade surrounded by nature and steeped in the fascinating history of the Low Beskid. This is a place where wild nature meets rich cultural heritage, creating an unforgettable experience.
