Time passes much more slowly here, the air has a different taste, and problems stay far behind the fence. The house has watched more than one generation, survived both wars, and still smells of childhood in the countryside and carefree lying on centuries-old boards. The High Sky stretches above the autumn mists, the smog of the cities, and at night, unpolluted by artificial light, it shines with a million stars or covers the wilderness with absolute darkness. Silence such that you can finally hear your inner self and the forest dancing in front of your windows.... In a large old garden, surrounded by forest, there is a traditional wooden Lachian cottage. It is more than a hundred years old, so we tried to preserve the atmosphere of the old days. We made most of the things ourselves using old planks, restoring age-old objects, busking at antique markets and local barns. On the first floor there is a living room with an old bed that serves as a sofa and a table for feasting, a fully equipped kitchen with a smaller table and lots of old items, a bathroom with a shower, and a bedroom with a large double bed and a double sofa bed. Upstairs there are two bedrooms: a four-bedroom and a six-bedroom. There is also a bathroom with a shower and a library. The house is well insulated with central heating, although for climate you can also light a fireplace. The kitchen allows you to prepare your own meals (induction hob, microwave, toaster, blender, toaster oven, set of dishes and pots, dishwasher). An old bread oven, a brewing machine, a bread shovel, a pastry maker, a butter maker and a wealth of mills add to the rural idyll. We also have a table here that was a wedding gift - our grandmother's from her parents. We are friends with our neighbors, so we are happy to help with country delicacies. In the garden you can cook something on the grill or make a bonfire. For children, we built a separate house with a large balcony overlooking the forest. There are also swings, hammocks, cool trees for climbing and a homemade corner with games, books and puzzles. A variety of animals graze in the neighborhood, and there are blueberries, blackberries and mushrooms in the woods. A few kilometers from us we have a friendly stable where you can practice horseback riding. There is no shortage of attractions in the area, there are mountain paths, forests, lookout towers, bike trails or educational parks. We are happy to give you some advice, and we have also left a lot of guidebooks and maps of the region in the cottage. However, we know from guests that they are most likely to relax on our large terrace or massage their bodies in the hot tub, which electrically maintains a high temperature throughout their stay.
