Welcome to the romantic studio at Gut Neuwerk - a unique retreat for all those looking for closeness to nature, comfort and inspiration. Nestled in the picturesque landscape of the Eifel National Park, between Cologne, Bonn and Aachen, a lovingly restored artist's studio awaits you, which today serves as an exclusive vacation home for two guests. The studio impresses with its authentic atmosphere: thick wooden floorboards, an open fireplace and sustainable, individually selected pieces of furniture create a warm, inviting ambience. The kitchen was designed with great attention to detail using old materials - a sewing machine table serves as a cooking island, historic scaffolding planks as work surfaces. We are Sara and Michael, with our three children Max, Romy and Michel. We have lived at Gut Neuwerk since May 2019. In December of the same year, we were joined by Grandma Angelika and Grandpa Karl-Heinz, who moved to us from Bavaria, more precisely from Lake Ammersee. Before that, we were in Cologne and really enjoyed city life with all its offers and opportunities. Then the children came along and the three-room apartment became too small, the streets too noisy and the air too dirty. In short, our priorities shifted. So we searched more or less intensively for an alternative for over two years, but nothing really suited us. Until we found Gut Neuwerk. We wanted to get out into the countryside, but that far? In any case, it was green, very green! And we were already in love. And as is the case when you're in love, all the arguments against it no longer counted. Too much work, too far away, too little infrastructure, too lonely. "We'll manage!" Some things were confirmed. The work thing, for example. Some things haven't, like the loneliness.
