Description

On the border with the wilderness, a house in complete seclusion, with a completely unique glacial landscape that can be admired from the veranda. Situated at the junction of the borders with Russia and Lithuania. A place from which you can well see birds arriving and departing, and neighbors are forest animals. A house with its own history, referring to the history of this piece of Poland, but also a house that arose from the admiration of visitors to the area. We cordially invite you to relax in our habitat on the border of Masuria and Suwalszczyzna. The habitat is located on the outskirts, away from other houses, 1.5 km from the village center, where there are stores. It borders the Romincka Forest, known as the Polish taiga, full of charming places, a sanctuary of unique fauna and flora. The house is designed for up to 8 people. In 3 bedrooms there are 8 places to sleep, including two on spring mattresses. Bedroom one has one double bed, the second bedroom houses two single beds. Bedroom three, the largest, is equipped with two single beds and there we customarily add mattresses if needed. The common area for guests is a kitchen with a dining table and access to a spacious terrace, equipped with comfortable garden furniture. From the terrace there is a view of the pond, forest and meadows. For children we have prepared a sandbox. At your disposal: - house about 115 square meters (3 rooms, kitchen, 1 bathroom) + terrace, - large parking lot, - place for barbecue and bonfire, - a place for feasting outside the house, in an outbuilding converted for this purpose, - almost 3 hectares of meadows, - depending on the season, the possibility of using products from the vegetable garden and herbarium, - a pond with a pier and a boat, - access to a non-public beach 8 km from the habitat (pier, boat, crystal water). Our story I have been connected with Suwałki or Humped Masuria for more than 20 years, although my roots are in Cracow. In 2000, my husband Mark and I bought a habitat in Dubeninki with a view to our own recreation. For 20 years, however, we were increasingly driven to our country house and, despite the distance (600 km), we visited more and more often. In 2020 we bought a second house, already with you in mind. And so after 20 years, the ratio of being in the "north" and "south" tilted towards our rural life. Malgosia I have been connected to Krakow since I was born. When I was a small child we used to go with my parents on vacation to Lake Wigry. It was wild, desolate, mysterious, beautiful. Marek We with my parents used to go to the Augustow Forest, where we spent wonderful vacations in a forester's lodge in the middle of the forest, near the charming Brzozowe Grądy. Malgosia For years, in my thoughts and even dreams, I was driven to the countryside. I regularly dreamed of the countryside, fields, meadows, ancient trees and an old house. Marek I am a native of Krakow, I have always appreciated the charms of city life, but I have also noticed - especially with the passage of time - its downsides. Malgosia In 1998, with my son already a few years old, we went on vacation to the Suwałki region near Wiżajn. Both of us, years later, wanted to see what had charmed us so much when we were a few years old. I naively hoped that time had stopped there. And it did stop a bit, or at least compared to the center and south of Poland. Marek And then it happened. We longed to be in this northeastern borderland more, more intensively. To put it in high terms, the region captured our thoughts and hearts. We began to look around for a house to buy. Margaret In 2000, we bought a post-German habitat on the edge of Suwałki and Humpty Mazuria, on the outskirts of the commune town of Dubeninki, in the buffer zone of the Romincka Forest. Marek For about 20 we went there for vacations, extended weekends, invited friends or lent them the place. We slowly renovated, decorated the house and garden. The year 2020 brought a breakthrough. We decided to live here, on the border of Masuria and Suwalszczyzna, and visit Krakow. Malgosia In 2020 we bought a beautifully located cottage on Border Lake in Old Zabin, already with a tourist offer in mind. In short, we can say that this is how it started.
