Description
If the films about the adventures of Indiana Jones ever return, they should certainly be filmed right in the Kaczawskie Foothills. It's a place full of mysteries and amazing stories just waiting to be filmed. There are plenty of possibilities: for example, the dark tale of the Schwenckfeldists, who in the 18th century, forced to flee persecution, sought refuge in America. Or the story of medieval crosses hidden in the dense forests of the region - one of them is even a rarity in Europe. Also worth mentioning are the legends associated with rich gold-bearing rivers, such as the Kaczawa, and the Nazi treasure rumored to have disappeared near Wielislawka at the end of WWII. And what about spectacular action scenes? Crude rock formations like those at Kingsajz, rising 15 meters, provide the perfect backdrop for dramatic clashes. Ruins of churches and castles, of which there is no shortage in the area, add just the right atmosphere. And for the climax - a chase up the basalt steps of Ostrzyca, also known as our Polish volcano Fuji. With such footage, the Oscars are within reach. The Kaczawskie Foothills is also a place that has been part of my family for four generations. My grandparents, looking for a new life, came here with my father of several months, bringing with them only uncertainty and hope. They settled in an old, post-German farmhouse that survived the war and is still standing, with a 1911 barn and a house older than that. Today I invite you to this very barn, which I rent exclusively. With two bedrooms, including one prepared for children, and a spacious mezzanine, it offers comfortable accommodation for six people. And in the backyard? There's enough space to accommodate even a whole regiment!
