Hill Top Hideaway Shepherd’s Hut with Hot Tub is a unique retreat located in the heart of the picturesque English countryside in Essex, near the charming village of Purleigh. It’s the perfect getaway for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and immerse themselves in the peace of nature while enjoying the comfort of modern amenities. Our cozy shepherd’s hut, measuring 18 by 8 feet and situated on a hill amid 10 acres of rolling meadows and pastures, offers breathtaking views of the Blackwater Estuary and the nearby vineyards of New Hall Wine Estate. The interior of the hut has been carefully designed to provide both comfort and functionality: it features a double bed, a fold-out foam mattress for a third guest (ideal for younger visitors), a bathroom with a shower, and a kitchenette equipped with an electric oven, a two-burner hob, a kettle, a toaster, and a fridge with freezer. On cooler days, you can warm up by the wood-burning stove or electric heater, and in the evenings, relax in your private outdoor wooden hot tub. Guests also have access to a BBQ and fire pit area, perfect for roasting marshmallows and enjoying the serenity of the surrounding nature. The location of the hut is ideal for active relaxation – the 45-mile St Peter’s Way trail runs nearby, and the historic pub The Bell and a local produce shop are within easy reach. We have run a campsite on our little farm since 2007, but within the last few years, branched out into Shepherd's Huts with hot tubs, as we are located in the driest part of the UK (Crouch Valley) where we have amazing views and country walks. We also have a wonderful local pub (The Bell, Purleigh) and vineyard (New Hall) on our doorstep.
