Description
Our house is located in Gierczyn. It is a small Sudetic village located on the northern slope of the Kamienicky Ridge in the Jizera Mountains. We are 7 km from the spa town of Swieradow-Zdroj. We have a few kilometers to the border with the Czech Republic, 30 km to Szklarska Poręba and the Karkonosze National Park, 20 km to Czocha Castle, 30 km to the Jeleniogórska Valley where there is the Valley of Palaces and Gardens and the capital of Karkonosze Jelenia Góra. One could enumerate like this for a long time. The easiest way to put it is that within a radius of 50 km from Izerski Place you will find countless monuments, beautiful landscapes and plenty of hiking, biking and in winter cross-country skiing trails. Our house, built on the pattern of Sudeten architecture, was made in half-timbered construction with a brick part. It is both contemporary, but also has elements that refer to tradition. We used natural materials such as wood, brick and stone to build the house and finish it. The first floor of the house is made of bricks, coming from the demolition of a dilapidated building that once stood on the site of our house. The house is heated with a heat pump and comfortably accommodates 8 people. Two additional people can sleep on extra beds in the bedrooms or on the large couch in the living room. Downstairs we have an open space consisting of a large kitchen, connected to the dining room and living room, with an old Norwegian stove. Upstairs there are three bedrooms: a 4-bedroom with two single beds and one double bed, and two smaller ones: one with a double bed and the other with two single beds. The house also has two bathrooms - with a shower downstairs and a bathtub in the attic. In the house you will find a lot of tourist guides, maps and regional books, board games, and right next door, beautiful landscapes, vast forests and undiscovered spaces of the Jizera Mountains. In the house you will not find a TV, but after all, coming to us you want to rest from civilization. If you miss it very much, we have wi-fi. If you want to get to know the region, we will be happy to tell you about it. We are guides and organize niche tours in small groups. We recommend you to discover the former Benedictine monastery in Lubomierz, visit the Walloon Trail in Szklarska Poreba in the glow of kerosene lamps, explore the romantic park in Bukowiec or go to the Rudawy Janowickie and climb the peaks of the Sokoli Mountains. See you there!
