ABOUT MECH AND CONE These are four avant-garde cottages made from a postal wagon, wood from a hundred-year-old cottage, and a hundred-year-old barn, located in the tiny village of Zynie, on the edge of an ancient forest, in the valley of the Tanew River in Roztocze. We built them with family effort, putting our whole heart into it. MECH was created from a wagon that transported letters in the 1980s. CONE is built from local wood - it envelops you in warm colors and soothes the senses. MECH GREEN was built from an old hundred-year-old barn, while RUSTY CONE was made from a salvaged hundred-year-old cottage. The Mech and Cone cottages have grown to relax busy thoughts, energize, and inspire with the beauty of greenery and the sounds of nature in the Polish countryside. We are sure you will love this unique place. GREEN HOMESTEAD The area is conducive to long walks along field and forest paths among old trees. The ancient forest looks here just beyond the fence. In summer, it provides shelter from the heat and smells of juicy moss, forest undergrowth, and berries, and in late autumn, it abounds with many species of wild mushrooms, while in winter it sleeps covered in snow, creating fluffy coverings on the trees. You can also delight your eyes with a picturesque view at the nearby wild pond, and the Tanew River will invite you for a kayaking trip with its gentle current. This is a place for the regeneration of spirit and body. For family, friends, for creative, yogic meditative, or artistic workshops. MECH COTTAGE from a postal wagon In the MECH Cottage, there are two wagon bedrooms and a bathroom with beautiful arched ceilings. You will find soft as down beds with windows overlooking a total wild thicket of lush acacias. Additionally, the cottage has a conservatory filled with flowers, a cozy nook with a view of the forest garden - green to the limits of possibility, a mezzanine, and an unusual living room with a kitchen. In short: - Kitchen combined with a living room (with a sofa bed) and a glass conservatory (with a "goat" fireplace) - open space, - Mezzanine bedroom with a double bed, which can be accessed by a metal ladder from the open space, - Two independent bedrooms with double beds, - Bathroom with a shower, - Independent wooden terrace with a garden, - Finnish sauna in the garden. CONE COTTAGE from wood Take a look at CONE, which envelops you in warm colors and soothes the senses. It accommodates a maximum of 4 travelers. Visit these pastoral pastel bedrooms, a bright plant-filled bathroom with a bathtub and shower. We have prepared for you soft as down beds with windows overlooking a total wild thicket of lush acacias. The lightweight and warm living room with a kitchen has a beautiful exit to the wooden terrace. In the garden, you will find a moment of coolness under the apple trees to read a book or light a fire. MECH GREEN HOUSE from a hundred-year-old barn This house is a continuation of the idea for the Mech cottage, which was created in 2021 from a postal wagon. This one was built from wood recovered from a hundred-year-old barn. We took care of every fragment of material to extract as much beauty from its history as possible. We added local craftsmanship, folk patterns, and handmade details to the interior. You will feel like you are in a magical fairy tale here. RUSTY CONE HOUSE from a hundred-year-old cottage Our family has been joined by the salvaged hundred-year-old log cottage RUSTY CONE. The old wood has been given a second life by us. We refreshed it while preserving what is most important, its memory and character. We covered the roof and front walls with shingles, which lay softly on the structure as if it had always belonged there. We cleaned the logs so that their age and natural texture could resonate anew. This is architecture that will transport you back in time to exceptional folk motifs, local artistic products, and the exceptionally beautiful raw nature of the Polish countryside. Additionally, I offer: BASKET OF GOODIES - At the request of Guests, we provide a rural basket of local goodies for preparing breakfasts. In both kitchens, it is convenient to prepare meals, make sandwiches for wandering around the area, and sit at the table until dawn. You have all the necessary equipment (pots, dishes, cutlery, glass, etc.). We want you to sleep and relax with us, so at your request, we will prepare a basket full of local goodies for a rural breakfast. Depending on the season, these will include: farm eggs, cottage cheese with chives, butter, baked rye bread, a jar of homemade jams, pickled mushrooms, and pickles. All preserves are made by the owner Antonina, who nurtures vegetables and fruits in her garden, collects herbs in the summer season, and mushrooms in the autumn. FREE FINNISH SAUNA - We have a Finnish sauna in our garden - it can be used by all Guests from the Mech cottage and the Cone cottage. FREE FIREPLACE AND GRILL - The cottage has electric central heating powered by solar energy and a cozy fireplace, and in the garden, there is a fire pit for bonfires and grilling, fueled by wood provided in advance by us. AIR CONDITIONING - In the summer, you can use air conditioning in the open space of the cottage. FREE BIKES - The cottage has bicycles prepared specifically for rides around the area. They can be used free of charge. SUP BOARD - SUP board and life jackets for 2 people | paid 150 PLN per day GUIDE - After booking, we share our original guide "Mech and Cone" about the area we know like our own pocket. For example, we will write here about a small local village shop and the farmers' market that takes place every Thursday and Saturday. Restaurants that we have checked and recommend: "Sitarska" in Biłgoraj, "Zajazd na Rozdrożu" in Soli, Chata Rybaka - Pstrąg Roztoczański (Bondyrz 9A), and for coffee lovers, the café and coffee roastery "Coffee and Sons" in Biłgoraj. WORKATION - An ideal place for relaxation interspersed with remote work. Are you wondering if you will find space to sneak away for a moment during your idyllic stay and write an email? Or spend a few hours catching up on work? We have ensured that you can click from anywhere in Mech and Cone. We have fast internet, a mobile speaker, extension cords, and wooden laptop pads, already verified by our Guests. Some choose a solid table in the open space, others hidden in the mezzanine prefer working from bed, while those most thirsty for nature sit in the garden and instead of music in the background, they prefer the chirping of birds during a call with the boss. Everyone will find their perfect way to workation here. Cancellation Policy: We do not refund the deposit in case of cancellation of the reservation for reasons beyond our control.
