Description

My Home in Budy is an intimate retreat nestled on the edge of the forest, designed for those seeking peace, nature, and a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Guests have access to a comfortable 160 × 200 cm bed located on the mezzanine and a pull-out sofa. The house also features a large bathtub, perfect for relaxing after a day spent outdoors. Please note, however, that the bathroom has not yet been fully finished, though it remains functional. The house is surrounded by a beautiful forest that is part of the Natura 2000 protected area. It is a unique place for nature lovers and birdwatchers. Many species of birds can be spotted in the area year-round, and binoculars are available on-site, allowing you to comfortably observe nature without venturing far from home. Numerous forest trails invite you to take walks, during which the singing of birds accompanies you almost constantly. A short distance from the cottage is also the Bug River—one of the last large, naturally meandering rivers in Europe. It’s a perfect spot for kayaking, fishing, or a peaceful retreat by the water. By kayak, you can reach, among other places, Szumin, where the Hansen House is located—the famous home and studio of architects Zofia and Oskar Hansen, one of the most interesting sites related to the history of Polish architecture. There is a small porch where you can enjoy a quiet morning coffee, as well as a designated spot for a bonfire to spend the evening under the starry sky. The absence of city lights means that at night you can admire the stars and enjoy true silence. It’s a simple, peaceful place for those who value closeness to nature, active recreation, and a leisurely pace of life. If you’re looking for a place where, instead of city noise, you’ll hear birds singing and the rustling of trees, there’s a good chance you’ll have a truly special time here. Note: We do not provide bedding, so please bring your own.

We dreamed of hiding from the world and retreating into the forest. At Dom Stare Budy, we managed to do this perfectly. Simplicity, warmth, and rural charm - that's how we would describe this place (local wildlife regularly visited us). The host took care of all amenities and was in constant, friendly contact with us. We recommend it to those who value contact with nature more than Instagram-worthy shots.

This is not a place for those seeking luxury, but for those looking for peace, quiet, and contact with nature. In the morning, you will be woken up by birds and adorable little goats living nearby. Then you can enjoy a lazy coffee on the terrace and lie in a hammock, and in the evening, have a bonfire with sausages. The forest is literally just behind the fence. I didn't manage to go myself, but I saw people walking with buckets for mushrooms, berries, and wild strawberries. Children have a large garden where they can play football or cool off under the sprinkler in the heat. The host is super nice and helpful. In the house, there is a large bed in the loft and two sofas, as well as a TV (I couldn't find the TV output, but you can connect to HDMI on a laptop), a router with decent internet (which is not so obvious), and a fireplace for cooler evenings. The bathroom is under renovation, but it is completely functional and, despite the renovation, works better and is more comfortable than many I have seen in similar cottages. The only inconvenience was the lack of a refrigerator, but for a short time, you can manage by putting food in a root cellar, and the shops are 3 km away, quite well equipped. In summary - I recommend it, and if I ever find myself in the area looking for a place for blissful relaxation in nature, I will head straight to Mr. Grzegorz.
